Favorable Becoming and Unfavorable Becoming

Every day, reality is becoming something.
Sometimes the becoming helps you, and sometimes it hurts you.
If favorable becoming adds +10 each day and unfavorable becoming removes -2 each day, then after 100 days you are ahead by +800.
Life feels expansive because favorable becoming compounds faster than unfavorable becoming.

Now imagine favorable becoming adds only +2 each day while unfavorable becoming removes -8 each day.
After 100 days you are behind by -600.
The problem is not merely the loss.
The problem is that before creating anything new, you must first undo the -600.

Suppose you finally stop the unfavorable becoming.
You are still at -600 and must spend another 60 days just to return to 0 if you can generate +10 per day.
So unfavorable becoming creates debt.
The debt delays all favorable becoming.
The more the debt grows, the more future effort gets consumed by repair instead of creation.

A person in favorable becoming builds a garden.
A person in unfavorable becoming spends all day removing weeds.
If the weeds grow faster than they can be removed, the garden never appears.
The deepest suffering is not the weeds.
The deepest suffering is watching all your creative energy get spent merely returning to where you started.
