I can only sleep in 1 bed at a time. I can only be in 1 room at a time. I can only be in 1 place at a time. I can only eat 1 meal at a time. I can only sit at 1 table at a time. I can only use 1 laptop at a time. I can only use 1 phone at a time. I can only live 1 lifetime of around 100 years.
I cannot sleep in 100 beds at a time. I cannot be in 100 rooms at a time. I cannot be in 100 places at a time. I cannot eat 100 meals at a time. I cannot sit at 100 tables at a time. I cannot use a 100 laptops at a time. I cannot use a 100 phones at a time. I cannot live for 10000 years.
What will I do with a billion dollars, If I can just be and do only 1 thing at a time, and live only for 100 years?!
Karma means ‘action’ (verb). Samskhara means ‘imprint/engram’ (noun). In colloquial usage though, karma and samskharas are used interchangeably.
The mind in its clear pure state is like a clear mirror, Where it simply reflects reality exactly the way it is. Now, imagine a mirror that holds memory. Suppose you go on a trip and carry the mirror to various places. On returning home, you would be seeing colorings/ghosts of the past all over the mirror image, right?
This is the nature of a mind loaded with samskharas (impressions/imprints from the past). The completion process (samskhara dahana kriya) is about thinning out these imprints, so that you can eventually see clearly through them.
One good visualization to imagine this is: Imagine you are holding a ‘color checker board’ in front of you.
If the color slots on the checker board are totally opaque, then, you can only see the color and nothing through it. If the color in the piece is made more and more transparent (decreasing opacity), you would gradually start to see what is behind the color piece more and more. After reducing the opacity i.e. thinning the color to a certain point, you would be able to easily see through it even if there is a bit of coloring still present, right? This is what is done in the completion process.
Generally in psychology, when the light of your consciousness shines through the color pieces in the checkerboard, it is known as ‘projection’. # If the color piece is totally opaque, then there is ‘total projection’. That is, you are entirely seeing your past imprint and nothing of the actual reality in front of you. Total projection completely obscures reality. # If the color checker board has no colors and if all the colors are replaced with clear glass pieces, then there is no projection at all, and you are directly seeing what is in front of you with no coloring. There is then 0 projection. So essentially, the spectrum is like this: Projection(0% transparency) ——- (50% transparency)——- Reality(100% transparency)
For most of us, there is a wide spectrum of opacity variation for these color pieces. It is neither 0% nor 100% transparent but somewhere in the middle. Positive colored pieces make us see life through positive colorings (seeing through rose tinted glasses). This is commonly referred to as good karma. Negative colored pieces make us see life through negative colorings/lenses (seeing through a hell bent mind). This is commonly referred to as bad karma.
The very process of living exhausts karma (colloquial usage). The main difference between a regular person and spiritual seeker is that the spiritual seeker exhausts the karma at a much higher intensity. Exhausting karma here means thinning the colors out. All samskharas in a way are partially unlived or undigested experiences. That is why they continue to color our present experience. To digest all these imprints is therefore the goal of the completion process. In a way, these positive coloring and negative coloring set of lenses are what you call your identity (that is, the combination of our specific likes-dislikes). So in the completion process, you are also thinning your identity out and eventually merging with the actual reality.
Consider the experience of eating physical food from a plate. At first we have a more intense experience of it in our tongue, And then we experience the more subtle experience of the consumed food getting digested, right? Then what follows is, the nutrients are extracted and the remaining food is sent out. Similarly, Karma is food for the gods/soul. Digestion of karma (the completion process), enriches the soul with wisdom which are the nutrients in this case.
The seed is the innate potential.
The tree is what the environment allows in the seed.
This seed-tree analogy could be applied to multiple truths/contexts.
Your DNA/Biology is like your seed,
While your social ego/self/identity/conditioning would be like the tree.
The seed’s responsibility is to give out all of its potential.
The tree’s responsibility is to stay a match/align to its environment.
You see what you want to see.
You see through the windows of your own expectations.
Even an unenlightened person can enlighten a sincere seeker.
Alternatively, a negative person may not benefit at all even from an enlightened person.
You attract what you are.
Your world view, ideas about everything, about others, are a reflection of the lens through which you are seeing.
A wise man can get wisdom even from a fool.
The fool can never get wisdom even if the wisest words are said to him.
Look for beauty, profoundness, and the sublime, and you will see it.
Open your heart to what you desire, you will see that manifested.
The outer world is only the reflection/projection of your inner world.
Seek, and you shall find and attain.
All true power is from within, from the invisible.
Become the diamond mind/diamond heart.
Receive the light and dazzle with the reflections.
Outer success without inner connection is meaningless.
The love of others will mean nothing, if you are not aligned to your own power.
Work on the roots, work on connecting to the earth,
And the flowers will come by themselves, the tree will bloom.
Connect yourself to the source and be an avatar/conduit of its power.
Become enlightened and freed with the power of the source.
Healing really is alignment, i.e. to keep what is real, to drop what is unreal.
Go into the transformation, let go into the fire of higher intelligence,
“Thou shall be done.”
7c = Realm of Nirvana
6c = Realm of Enlightenment
5c = Realm of Jnana/Wisdom
4c = Realm of Devotion
3c = Realm of Identity (inc. identity of being human)
2c = Realm of Relationship with Identities
1c = Realm of Physical Manifestation
Think of it as an upside down tree.
The ground is 7c.
The roots are 6c, 5c, 4c => in that order
The tree above the ground is 3c, 2c, 1c => in that order.
Here are the duality spectrums that relate to home and travel:
Comfort ——————– Discomfort
Instant gratification —— Delayed gratification
Security ——————– Insecurity
Safety ———————- Risks
Convenience ————– Inconvenience
Familiarity —————– Newness
Sameness —————– Novelty
Certainty ——————- Uncertainty
Predictability ————– Unpredictability
Relaxation —————– Stress
Reflection —————— Action
Digestion ——————- Consumption
Sleep ———————– Waking
Stasis ———————– Growth
Knowledge —————– Learning
Settled ———————- Seeking
Ease ———————— Unease
Homeostasis ————— Altered states
Health ———————- Sickness
Death ———————– Life
Retreat ——————— Exploration
Para-SNS ——————- SNS (Sympathetic nervous system)
Regeneration ————– Expenditure
Gathering —————– Expending
Freedom ——————- Constraints
Abundance —————– Limitation
Home ———————– Adventure
Each of the above pairs represents different degrees of the same essence.
Also, in these word pairs above, there are positive and negative connotations.
I could flip it up and it would reverse what is desirable and undesirable.
For example, the negative interpretation of freedom is ‘psychosis’, and the positive interpretation of constraints is ‘healthy boundaries’.
This can be done for every word-pair above.
As life moves, there are various possibilities: Inbreath stage: Sunrise: Childhood
1. New memories are made much more rapidly, than the fading of the old memories = birth, becoming, forming, progress, ascent. Holding stage: Daytime: Adulthood
2. New memories are made at the same rate, as the fading of old memories = balance, plateau, steadiness, refinement. Outbreath stage: Sunset
3. New memories are made at a much slower rate, while fading of old memories is happening rapidly = ripening, descent, reverie, nostalgia, retreat. Vacuum stage: Nighttime
4. Neither is any new memory formed, nor is any old memory faded = Statis, Sleep, Death, total withdrawal.
It swings like a pendulum:
Losses ——|—— Gains
Death ——|——- Life
Dissolution —-|—- Formation
Sleep —–|—– Waking
Nighttime —-|—- Daytime
Outbreath —-|—- Inbreath
This is the life cycle that can be seen at all scales of form:
Like look at a banana. A time lapse of its life.
As it [emerges, becomes full size, ripens, rots].
Even the process of digestion mirrors this pattern.
[intake, break down, extraction, excretion]
Every birth-death is a cycle.
Now the question would be, if this is all a cycle, it is zero sum, what is the gain?
Yes, a cycle by itself is 0 sum.
The logic here is, the gain derived from living through any cycle always lies beyond the cycle.
The part of you that is beyond this cycle, that is the part that gains from the cycle.
The gain lies not in the cycle, but beyond it.
